Dr Désiré HABONIMANA

Dr Désiré is a medical doctor (MD) with two Masters of Science relevant to public health. The first MSc in Health Economics and Decision Science is from the University College London, UK. The second MSc in Epidemiology (Implementation Science) was obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand of Johannesburg, South Africa. Today Dr Désiré is the Head of Research and Innovation Unit at Kamenge Medical Teaching Hospital (University of Burundi) and Lecturer of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Research Methods in the School of Medicine, University of Burundi. He is most interested in malaria as attested by his current and previous works. Dr Habonimana has mainly worked with and/or consulted for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; The World Health Organization, GIZ, USAID, and the National Malaria Control Programs (NMCP) in Africa.
